Rubicon vs. Sahara vs. Sport: Which is the best Wrangler for you?

Today, we will discuss “Rubicon vs. Sahara vs. Sport: Which is the best Wrangler for you?” No doubt the Jeep Wrangler is your best bet when it comes to off-roading. But the question that begs to be answered is, “which one?” The Wrangler comes in three main trim levels: Rubicon, Sport, and Sahara, but there are more editions in between. They come with different features that could make the best off-roading experience complete for you.

One of the dilemmas of people choosing their first Wrangler is picking the right Wrangler for them. Is the stock Sport enough or will it be worth it to spend a few more thousand for an upgrade? The good news here is that Jeep offers everybody the same basic functionality whichever trim level they ultimately go with. So whether you pick the cheapest option or go for the most expensive one, the most important components such as the engine and transmission will be the same. They will differ based on the extra features they offer.

With that said, let’s take a look at the 2022 Jeep Wrangler and its standard features. It comes with a 3.6L Gasoline V6 engine that produces 385 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. It also comes with a 6-speed manual transmission and a fuel mileage of 17mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway, 20 mpg combined. Its drivetrain is still powerful as ever with its 4-wheel drive. Now, let’s move on to what the different trim levels offer.

Unlimited Sport

This trim level retails at $34,820 adn comes with basic features like fog lights and of course, the foldable soft top covering its panoramic roof. It is also equipped with the new Uconnect 4 display and 8-speaker audio system. It has manual air conditioning and a push-button start to add to the list.

Sport is the most basic and cheapest choice, but its offroad capabilities do not fall short. It has the less fancy interior and exterior but is perfect for those who want both a daily driver and an off-roader.

Unlimited Sahara

This one retails at $42,045. On top of the basic features, it prides itself on having a dual-zone temperature feature, ambient interior lighting, and a remote garage opener. It has a bigger touchscreen at 8.4 inches, nine speakers, and navigation and satellite radio. Sahara is arguably the most luxurious choice among the three when it comes to premium comfort and convenience.

Unlimited Rubicon

The 2022 Rubicon is being sold at $45, 595.  It has a custom grille and fender flares which all Rubicons have on top of the sway bar disconnect. An exception this year is the Rubicon 392 which has the bigger 6.4 liter V8 engine.

Rubicon is the most capable offroader among the three as it is equipped with more features to help drivers handle the worst of all terrains out there.

So… Rubicon vs. Sahara vs. Sport: Which one?

Since the question is highly personal, it all boils down to preference. Do you want a Wrangler for the daily drives and some casual offroading? Do you want a premium-feeling Wangler? Or are you getting a Wrangler to get down and dirty? If you know the answer, you know what to pick.
