What’s new and what to love about the 2023 Jeep Wrangler

Today, we will discuss “what’s new and what to love about the 2023 Jeep Wrangler. The end of the year is just around the corner and while that means many things for different people, it means one thing for car enthusiasts–new car models! And the Jeep Wrangler is one of the many vehicles getting a redesign and a makeover much to offroading fans’ delight. Well, actually the 2023 Jeep Wrangler was released in the middle of this year, so it’s a few months old now.

What’s new with the latest Wrangler? Read on to find out.

Plug-in hybrid continues to dominate

The 2021 model of the Wrangler 4xe was the first plug-in hybrid in Wrangler history. In the whole Jeep lineup, the only other vehicle to be produced with both a gas engine and an electric motor is the Grand Cherokee 4xe.

The Jeep Wrangler 4xe is the most planet-friendly Wrangler and it doesn’t compromise performance for this feature. The 2023 model of the Wrangler is pretty much loaded with the same features in the performance department.

The engine on the 2023 Wrangler is a 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder gasoline. Its transmission is an 8-speed automatic. It has an engine power of 200 kW/270 horsepower.

New colors, trim lines, and exciting decals

What to watch out for, though, are exciting new exterior colors. You have Earl and Reign (limited edition) on top of the usual color choices like, black, white, blue, and red. New decals are a great additional touch, too. Wrangler pays homage to its military roots with decals of the American flag on the front fenders. It’s also a tribute to all American workers who make the production of Wranglers possible.

Trim lines get a new member, too, except it’s not exactly new if you’re familiar with your Jeep history. The newest addition is the Willys, which sit at the bottom of the trim line and is the entry-level 4xe price-wise. The Willys has this vintage twist to it, a true pleasure for Jeep fans.

As of September 30, 2022, the Wrangler 4xe is the highest-selling plug-in hybrid vehicle in the US.

Standard and optional 17-inch wheels

For this year’s lineup, the Rubicon trim line gets standard and optional 17-inch wheels.

Freedom edition

The Wrangler Freedom Edition is available on the Sport S trim level and is a tribute to Wrangler’s military heritage. The interior and exterior design of this edition gets a military theme. It also has the Oscar Mike badge, a military code for “on the move” and the American flag decal. For every Freedom edition sold, Jeep donates $250 to military charities. Other than the Wrangler, the Jeep Gladiator also gets a Freedom Edition.

Prices

The Sport trim starts at $35,990 while the Willys Sport starts at $38,585. The Sport S sells for $38,395 and the Freedom Edition starts at $42,085.

While there is not much change for the 2023 lineup of the Wrangler, the theme seems to revolve around paying tribute to Jeep’s heritage.
